Privacy policy

We store your stuff locally. That's basically the policy.

The MVP build of LinkCrusher does not collect, transmit, or share personal data. Everything you create — boards, links, todos, scratchpad — lives in your browser. Below is the full version in plain English.

Effective · May 21, 2026 · v1.0
Summary

LinkCrusher MVP stores dashboard data in chrome.storage.local, does not sync that data to LinkCrusher servers, and has no analytics, telemetry, or third-party SDKs. Link favicons may be requested from websites you add so those links can display site icons. The contact form on our support page is the one place we collect an email — and only because you typed it in.

What the extension collects

The LinkCrusher Chrome extension does not collect or transmit any of the following:

  • Personally identifiable information (name, email, address)
  • Authentication credentials, passwords, or tokens
  • Browsing history or open tabs
  • Location data, financial data, or health data
  • Form input data from any website
  • Web content from pages you visit
  • User activity (clicks, mouse movement, keystrokes)

What the extension does store, on your own device only:

  • Boards, widget layouts, and theme preferences you create
  • Favorite links and todo items you add yourself
  • Scratchpad text you type
  • Compact-mode and density settings

All of this is written to chrome.storage.local, which is sandboxed to your browser profile and not synced anywhere by us.

Permissions requested

LinkCrusher requests the following Chrome permissions in the MVP:

  • storage — to save your boards and settings locally.
  • contextMenus — to add pages, links, and selected text from the browser right-click menu.
  • tabs — to capture the current page when you use the LinkCrusher shortcut or context menu.

It does not request history, bookmarks, cookies, host permissions, or website content access in the MVP.

Network activity

On opening a new tab, LinkCrusher does not contact LinkCrusher servers, analytics tools, or ad networks. The dashboard renders from local state. Calendar events and RSS items shown in the MVP are mocked locally as part of the bundle. If a user adds links, the browser may request favicons from those user-added sites so LinkCrusher can show recognizable icons.

When real Google Calendar, Outlook, and live RSS land in Phase 2, those integrations will be strictly opt-in per service, with their own consent flow and disclosure.

What this website collects

The website you're reading (linkcrusher.app) is a static marketing site. It collects:

  • Your email address, only if you submit the contact form on our support page. We use it to reply to your message.
  • Your name and message, only if you choose to enter them in the contact form.
  • Basic server logs (IP address, user agent, request path) from our hosting provider, kept for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or social media pixels on this site.

How we use that information

If you submit the contact form we use your email to:

  • Reply to questions or feedback you send us
  • Follow up on bug reports or install issues

We never sell, rent, or share your email or message content with third parties. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@linkcrusher.app.

Data sharing

We do not share data with third parties, full stop, with two exceptions:

  • Service providers: our email service (e.g. Resend) and hosting provider (e.g. Vercel) process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms. We pick providers that are SOC-2 or equivalent.
  • Legal compliance: if compelled by law, we will comply with valid legal requests and notify affected users where lawful.

Your rights

You can:

  • Access the data we hold about you (email + message text) by emailing us.
  • Delete your support history at any time.
  • Back up your local extension data using the export/import feature once it ships.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we'll update the effective date at the top. The previous version will remain linked for reference.
